Montana is a huge state. The eastern side has been lots of green rolling hills with exposed rocks and numerous buttes.  We are now in the bottom of an ancient inland sea.

We finally made it to Devil’s Tower, Wyoming. After coming within two or three hours of Devils Tower on the last couple of previous trips, we made the commitment this time to do the drive. We were so surprised at how big it actually is. It is a highly desired climbing location, but due to the fact that birds are nesting on the tower now, no climbing is allowed… Although we did see a group of three climbing while we were there.
